You can find Karthik Farm & Nursery over at 14 Tavarekere. It is a bit of a green spot in a world that is getting more built up every single day. We spend most of our time outside, honestly. Dealing with plants and dirt does not leave much time for sitting at a fancy desk. The place has been here for a while, and we have seen the seasons change more times than I can count. It is a simple life, really. We get up early when the sun starts coming up and we get straight to work. There is always something that needs watering or some pots that need moving from one side to the other. The layout of the nursery is just how it grew over the years. It is not a designed landscape, just a working farm area. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know the plants. People from around Tavarekere come by when they need something for their own gardens. We do not have a lot of fancy signs or brochures. If you want to know something, you just ask us while we are working. The dirt gets under your nails and the air smells like wet earth after we water everything. It is a very honest way to spend the day. Sometimes the rains make things a bit muddy, but that is part of it. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, at our little spot on Tavarekere.
