The building here on Jasma Bhavan Road has been around for quite some time now. We usually open up early because the morning players like to get their games in before work starts. It’s right next to Gurunanak Bhavan, so people find it easily enough. Inside, you can always hear the sound of shuttlecocks hitting rackets and people shouting scores across the net. We’ve got a few courts and benches where people sit and wait their turn. It’s not fancy or anything, just a place for people in Vasanth Nagar and around Bangalore to come and play some badminton. Sometimes it gets a bit humid inside when every court is full, but that’s just how it goes with sports. The floor gets a lot of wear and tear, so we try to keep it clean. You see all sorts here, from kids just starting to older folks who have been playing for decades. It’s a bit of a community spot really. Most people know each other by name after a few weeks. The traffic on Miller Tank Bed can be a bit much during peak hours, but once you’re inside, you just focus on the game. We don't really do big advertisements; people usually just hear about us from friends or walk in because they live nearby. It’s just a straightforward spot for anyone who likes the game and wants to stay active. It is what it is, a local court for local people.
