Kamala Singh & Sons

Kamala Singh & Sons is located at 51 Nalini Seth Road. It’s an old-fashioned kind of place, reflecting how we like to run things. The street is usually packed with traders and walkers, so there’s always something to see out the window. Our building is one of those traditional ones with thick walls. Inside, it’s mostly wooden desks and stacks of ledgers. We haven't changed much over the years because this way works for us. We know the neighbors and the tea seller down the block. The atmosphere is very local. We deal with a variety of things throughout the day. It’s a bit of this and a bit of that. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just the family and a few helpers. We value the relationships we’ve built on Nalini Seth Road more than anything else. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, but other days we can barely keep up with the foot traffic. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but number 51 stays pretty much the same. We just keep the door open and wait for whoever comes in. It’s a simple life and we aren't looking to make it more complicated than it needs to be. Just honest work every day. Sometimes the rains make the street messy, but we just clean the doorstep and carry on like always.
