If you know MG Road, you probably know the Barton Centre. It’s one of those big buildings that’s been around for ages. Our office is on the 211 side of Mahatma Gandhi Road. Being in the heart of the city means we deal with a lot of noise and people always rushing around. Working at Kabra Extrusiontechnic means we are mostly focused on the technical side of things, specifically extrusion stuff, but our day-to-day is actually pretty ordinary. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at technical drawings on the computer screen. The view from the office is mostly other tall buildings and the metro line that runs right past us. Sometimes the elevators in Barton Centre take forever, so we end up waiting around and chatting with people from the other floors. Lunch is usually something quick from one of the small spots nearby, or someone brings a dabba from home and we eat together in the small pantry. We don't really do the whole corporate suit-and-tie thing unless someone important is visiting. Mostly, it’s just us trying to stay on top of the orders and making sure the technical specs are right before things get sent out. The monsoon makes the commute to MG Road a bit of a nightmare, but we’ve gotten used to the puddles and the slow traffic over the years. It is just part of working in the middle of everything.
