We are located on the 10th floor of Mittal Towers, which is a pretty well-known building in Bangalore. Being at suite 1014 gives us a decent view of the surroundings, though we spend most of our time looking at computer screens and long spreadsheets. Jayem Logistics is all about moving things from point A to point B, but we do all that coordination from this office. The elevators in this building are always a bit slow and crowded, so we’ve learned to be patient or just take the stairs if we’re only going down a couple of floors for a break. It’s a typical city office atmosphere—lots of coffee, people talking on headsets, and the constant sound of keyboards clicking. We handle a lot of different types of cargo, and every day there’s some new problem with a shipping route or a warehouse delay. It’s not a very peaceful job. There’s always a sense of urgency because someone somewhere is waiting for their delivery. We have a small kitchen area where we heat up our lunches, and that’s where most of the non-work talk happens among the staff. We’ve been in Mittal Towers for quite a while now, and the office has that lived-in feel with folders piled up and a few dead plants that someone forgot to water. It’s a practical space for a practical business. We just try to keep the wheels turning and the clients informed without making things too complicated for anyone.
