Vidya Fashion Academy

We are up on the 1st Floor of Suraj Towers, which is at the 27th Cross in 3rd Block, Jayanagar. If you are near the Ganesha Temple, you are pretty much there. Our space is usually full of people learning the ropes of fashion. You’ll find people practicing their stitches or drawing out designs on large pieces of paper. It’s a lively place because there are always students around asking questions or trying to figure out how to use the machines properly. We have been in Jayanagar for some time and it’s a great area with the temple close by and lots of shops around. The academy itself is just a set of rooms with a lot of natural light coming in, which is good for seeing the details in the cloth. It isn't a stiff or formal place; it’s more about getting your hands dirty and actually making things. We have rows of machines and cutting tables that see a lot of use every single day. It can get a bit noisy when everyone is working at once, but that’s the best way to learn. We just keep things simple and focus on the skills that people actually need to make clothes. Most of the time there are threads and pins all over the floor, but that just shows how much work is being done in here. We spend our days teaching and sewing until the sun goes down.
