Jalsa

Jalsa is located out in Marathahalli, specifically in Doddanekundi Village, KR Puram. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but for the people living around here, we’re just part of the local landscape. We’ve got a big space and it takes a lot of effort to keep it tidy. Every day we’re checking the stock and making sure the kitchen has what it needs. The area is always under construction or has some kind of roadwork going on, so it gets dusty outside quite often. We do our best to keep the place looking decent inside. The staff here are mostly local guys who have been with us for a while. We aren't following any big corporate manual. We just know how to cook and how to talk to people who walk through the door. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to rely on the generator, which is just part of living and working in this part of town. We serve a lot of different people, from tech workers to families who have lived here for generations. It’s a mix of everything. We don't have a mission statement or any of that. We just open the doors, cook the food, and go home when the work is finally done. It’s a simple way to earn a living, even if the commute for some of us is a bit long.
