J K Camera Services is up on the first floor over in Fatepura, Vadodara. If you know where Ramakrishna Lodge is, we are right near there in the Koyali Falia area of Babra Tekra. It is a bit of a walk up the stairs, but once you are here, you will see we have cameras and parts scattered all over the place. We have been fixing cameras for people in Gandhi Nagar and the surrounding areas for years. It is meticulous work, taking apart those tiny lenses and sensors. Sometimes it takes a few hours just to find one little screw that came loose. We do not have a big shiny showroom. It is more of a workshop feel with tools and magnifying glasses everywhere. People bring in old film cameras their grandfathers gave them, and others come in with the latest digital models that stopped working after a trip. We look at all of them. It gets a bit dusty with all the old gear around, but we try to keep the working areas clean. Vadodara has a lot of photographers, so there is always something interesting on the bench. We just sit here and do the repairs as they come in. It is quiet work for the most part. We like the challenge of getting a broken piece of equipment back into working order so someone can go out and take photos again. It is satisfying when a camera finally clicks right.
