International Leather Materials

You can find us at NO. 4-B on Vepery High Road, in the Periamet area. If you know anything about this neighborhood, you know it is the center for everything related to leather. The smell is the first thing you notice when you get off the bus or park your bike. International Leather Materials is right in the thick of it. Our building is one of those older ones with high ceilings and thick walls. Inside, we have stacks of leather and various materials piled up. It is not a showroom with bright lights. It is more like a warehouse where we keep everything organized in our own way. The floors are often covered in small scraps or dust from the materials. We spend our days moving these heavy rolls around and checking the quality of what comes in. It is hard work and your hands usually get a bit dirty by noon. We have a few old fans that hum all day long. The people who come to see us are usually regulars who have been buying from this part of town for decades. We don't use a lot of fancy technology here; we mostly rely on our eyes and hands to judge the materials. It is a very traditional way of doing business, but it works for us. We keep the doors open to the street and just deal with the heat and the noise of the city passing by.
