We are Inhabitat Developments, and we work out of a small place at No.21 on SC Garden Main Road, just off St Johns Road. This part of Bangalore is pretty old and has a lot of character, which we like. We focus on development projects, which basically means we spend our time looking at land and figuring out what to build on it. It’s not all exciting work; there is a massive amount of paperwork and dealing with local authorities that takes up most of our time. The office is usually a bit of a mess with blueprints and coffee cups. We don't really have a corporate culture here. We’re just a few people who enjoy the process of seeing something go from a flat piece of dirt to a finished building. We’ve been at this for several years now. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy showroom. Most people find us because they saw one of our sites or someone they know told them about us. It's a slow and steady kind of business. We aren't trying to take over the world, just trying to do good work in our own corner of the city. St Johns Road is a busy place, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with whatever project is currently on the table. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble.
