I spend most of my days at 37, KIADB Industrial Area in Doddaballapur. Working at Indic Ems Electronics Pvt. Ltd. means being out where the real manufacturing happens. It’s quite a distance from the main city, so the commute can be a bit of a drag, but the industrial area has its own kind of charm. It’s full of large warehouses and factories, and there’s always the sound of machinery or trucks moving in the background. Our spot at number 37 is a plain building that serves its purpose well. Inside, the floors are concrete and the ceilings are high. It’s not a place for fancy suits or polished boardrooms. We’ve got our equipment set up and most of the space is dedicated to getting things made and shipped. The air can be a bit dusty when the wind blows through the industrial estate, and the sun really beats down on the roof in the afternoons. We have a small area where we keep our records and a table for having tea and lunch. It’s a very straightforward environment. We don’t worry much about appearances; we just focus on the work in front of us. Most of the people here have been around for years, so we all know the routines of the place. It’s a hard-working atmosphere in Doddaballapur, and being part of the KIADB area makes us feel like we’re in the center of the action.
