Indian Institute Of Sceince

This is a bit of a unique spot for the Indian Institute of Sceince. We’re located at No-481, Sri Vainatheya Krupa, which is right opposite the Kabir Ashram in Doddabomasandra. It's a residential-feeling area near Kodigehalli Post. You might see the name Vinay M. B. associated with our address because this is where we operate from. It's more of a home-office environment than a big laboratory. We handle a lot of correspondence here, often using the email listed in our records. The atmosphere is very relaxed and quiet, mostly because we are tucked away near the ashram. It’s a far cry from a busy city center. We spend a lot of time on the computer or reading through scientific papers. The neighborhood is friendly, and people usually recognize us when we’re out getting lunch. We don’t have a big sign out front, so you have to know where you’re going. It's a practical way to manage things without the overhead of a massive building. We do our best to stay on top of the research and paperwork that comes our way. Sometimes the postman has trouble finding the exact door, but we usually catch him. It's a small, dedicated operation. We like the peace and quiet here because it helps with the focus needed for science work. It’s just a couple of us working through the day, making sure the scientific records are kept straight.
