Indian Furnitures

We’re located at No. 31/2 on Hosur Main Road in Madiwala. We’re right opposite the Anjeneya Temple, so you can hear the bells and the chanting during the festivals, which is actually quite nice. Dealing with furniture means our shop is always filled with the smell of polish and fresh wood. We have chairs and tables stacked up, sometimes almost to the ceiling, so you have to be careful when walking around. Madiwala is always jammed with traffic, especially with the buses going to Tamil Nadu, so it gets quite dusty. We spend a lot of our time dusting off the sofas and making sure the cushions look okay. We don’t have a big marketing plan; we just put some pieces out on the sidewalk and wait for people to stop by. Most of our customers are folks moving into new apartments nearby who need something that won't break the first time they sit on it. We’ve been in this same spot for years, and the temple across the road is our constant landmark. Sometimes we sit out front in the evening when the sun goes down and just watch the people go by. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to be a big chain store. We just want to sell good wooden things that people can actually use in their homes. If the shop is closed, we’re probably just out delivering a table.
