Ijm (India) Infracture Ltd. operates out of the Hindalco Colony in Hirakud, which is in the Sambalpur district of Orissa. Our specific spot is at Qr-F 4/2. Being located in a colony like this means it’s a bit more organized than the middle of the city. We’ve got the dam nearby, which is a big part of life here. Our work is all about infrastructure, and we have been handling things from this office for a good while. It is a quiet place to work mostly, though things can get busy when a new project starts up. We aren't some big-shot executives; we are just people who know how to get things built. Our office is modest, filled with maps and project files. We spend a lot of time talking to the workers and making sure everything is on track. Sometimes the monsoon rains slow everything down, and we just have to wait it out. That’s just how it is in Orissa. We know the local area well and the people who live here. We don't do much in the way of self-promotion. We just let the work we finish speak for itself. Most days involve a lot of checking and re-checking details. It's a bit repetitive, but it’s important to do it right. We like the community here in Hirakud and plan to stay for as long as there is work to do.
