We are over in Jayanagar 4th Block, which is one of those parts of Bangalore that still has a bit of the old charm left. Our spot is at number 7 in KV Layout, right on 4th A Cross. It’s a handy location because everything is close by, from the parks to the markets. Hydro Building Systems Pvt Ltd has its roots here, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. The office itself is pretty simple. We have a few desks and some shelving for all the technical manuals and project files we keep on hand. It’s not one of those high-tech offices you see in the IT parks; it’s more of a functional space where we actually get our hands dirty with the planning. We usually get in early before the traffic on the main roads gets too bad. Someone is always brewing coffee and the printer is usually humming away in the background. We have a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when we are all debating a design detail, but that is just how we work. Being in Jayanagar makes the workday feel a bit more relaxed than being in the middle of the city center. We just focus on getting the building systems sorted out for our clients and try to avoid the worst of the afternoon heat.
