You’ll find Bhavani Timber Co. over on C. K. Palya Road, tucked away near the Volvo Garage off Bannerghatta Road. We’re on Plot 136 and 138 at Sy. No. 76. The smell of fresh-cut wood is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We’ve been at this spot in Hommadevanahalli for a while now. It’s a messy place, to be honest. There’s always sawdust on the floor and piles of planks waiting to be sorted. We spend our time running the saws and helping folks pick out the right kind of timber for their projects. Whether it’s for a small repair or something bigger, we just pull out what’s in the stacks. The yard gets pretty loud when the heavy machinery is going, so we do a lot of shouting to be heard over the noise. It’s a hands-on kind of business. We don't wear ties or sit in air-conditioned offices. Most of us have calluses on our hands from moving the logs around all day. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the road near the garage, but we get them in and out eventually. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to provide a decent piece of wood at a fair price. People stop by, look at the grain, and we cut it to size for them. It’s simple and it works for us. There is always a lot of scrap wood around if someone needs it.
