Our shop, Home Life Furniture, is down in the basement of Hjs Chambers at number 26 on Richmond Road. It is right next to Baldwin Girls School. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler than the street level, which is nice when it gets hot outside. You have to walk down the stairs to find us. Sometimes people walk right past the entrance because the sign isn't very big. We have been in this spot for a while. The space is a bit oddly shaped, but we manage to fit everything in. It is not the biggest place on the block. We usually have the radio playing in the background. It is a bit quiet down here compared to the noise from the school next door. We get a lot of parents stopping by after they drop their kids off. The lighting is all artificial since there aren't any windows, but it works fine for what we need. We spend most of our time organizing the stock or chatting with folks who wander in. Richmond Road is always busy, so we like our little corner in the basement. It feels private. We don't do much advertising; most people just hear about us from others in the area. It is just a local business run by regular people. If you see Hjs Chambers, you are in the right place. Just look for the stairs leading down. We keep the door open most of the day.
