Hi-Tech Technologies, Calicut, Kerala

Even though the name says Calicut, we’re actually working out of Bangalore right now. We’re in the Thimmaiah Reddy Building on Kudlu Main Road in Madivala. It’s a very busy part of town, that’s for sure. The traffic on the main road is something else, and it never seems to stop. We handle various technology tasks, mostly hardware and some general setup work for businesses. It’s a bit of a trek for some people to get through the city to see us, but we’re here most days working away. The office is pretty basic and functional. Just some old tables, mismatched chairs, and a lot of gadgets lying around in different states of repair. We started out in Kerala, which is where the Calicut part of the name comes from, but work eventually moved us over here to Bangalore. It’s different here compared to home; it’s faster and a lot louder. We just try to keep up with the pace as best we can. People drop off things that need fixing, or they ask us to help them with new software setups. We don't use any fancy corporate talk; we just tell them what needs to be done and how long it might take. Some days are definitely better than others, especially when a really tricky technical problem finally gets solved after hours of trying. We’re just a small group of people who know their way around electronics. It’s what we do.
