You can find us over at Sunbeam Eagles Street, at 1/1 on Langford Road. It is an interesting spot where Eagle Street meets the main road. The building is an older one, and it has a bit of a sturdy feel to it. Working with silk is what we do every day, and it is a lot more labor-intensive than most people realize. The fabric is delicate, so we have to be careful with how we store the rolls so they don't get snagged or dusty. The rooms are usually filled with stacks of cloth in different shades, and when the sun comes through the windows in the afternoon, the colors look quite different. It is mostly quiet work, except for the sound of the fabric being measured out or the occasional delivery truck pulling up outside. Parking on Langford Road can be a real headache, so we usually tell people to come early or use the side streets if they can find a gap. Our team is small, and most of us have been working with textiles for a long time. We don't have a big corporate setup or anything like that. It is just a straightforward operation where we spend our time checking the weave of the silk and making sure it is ready for whoever needs it. We drink a lot of tea and try to keep things orderly, though the threads do tend to get everywhere.
