Hallur Construction

Our spot is in Nagabhavi, 6th Block, at house number 360. It’s called Nandhi Nivas. Bangalore-72 is a big area and there is always some building going on around here these days. We do construction work, mostly houses and small repairs or renovations for people nearby. The office is really just part of the ground floor where we keep the records and meet with the guys before they head out. We’ve lived in this part of town for a long time now. It’s a lot easier to manage things when you know all the local suppliers and where to get good sand or bricks without paying too much. My brother and I started this because we knew how to build things with our hands. We aren't a giant corporation with hundreds of workers and fancy uniforms. It is just a small group of us at Hallur Construction. We handle the masonry, the roofing, and all the structural stuff. Sometimes the weather in Bangalore gets in the way of pouring concrete, so we have to plan around the clouds and the rain. We drink a lot of tea while looking over blueprints at the old dining table. It’s not fancy at all. If someone needs a wall fixed or a new room added to their house, they usually just drop by. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our small sign out front. We keep busy enough with the projects from people in the neighborhood.
