Granite Fixer

People around Banneraghatta Road and Dr Annie Basant Road see us out and about quite a bit. At Granite Fixer, we spend most of our time at different sites, putting stone in place. It's dusty work and hard on the back. We carry heavy slabs up stairs and fit them into kitchens or on floors. We don't have a big corporate setup. It's just us and our tools. You learn quickly that granite doesn't forgive mistakes. If you drop it, it's gone. So we take our time. Most of our days are spent measuring, cutting, and then hauling the pieces into position. It gets noisy with the saws going. We’ve been doing this for a while now, so we know the local neighborhoods well. Sometimes we’re working in a new apartment block, other times it’s an old house getting a bit of a fix-up. We grab lunch at whichever stall is closest to the site. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is something about seeing a floor finished and polished that feels alright. We just try to make sure everything sits level and the gaps aren't too big. That’s what matters. Granite is heavy, and the weather can be hot, but the work stays steady. We just keep moving from one job to the next, making sure the stone stays where it's put. It takes a lot of patience to get the joints looking right, but we’ve got enough experience to handle the tricky parts.
