Girish Murthy & Kumar is situated in the High Point building on Palace Road. We are up on the 5th floor, specifically at 4502-45. Being in High Point is interesting because it’s one of those older, established buildings in the city. The elevators can be a bit slow during the morning rush, so we often find ourselves waiting around chatting with people from the other floors. From our windows, we get a bit of a view of the surrounding area, which is nice when you need a break from looking at a screen. The office is full of cabinets and desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our hours going through documents and talking over the phone. It’s a professional atmosphere but not stiff. We know each other well, so there’s a lot of casual talk while we work. Palace Road is a busy stretch, and we can hear the traffic even five floors up. We have a small corner where we keep the kettle and some biscuits for when the afternoon slump hits. It’s a functional space that suits the kind of work we do. We don’t have any flashy signs or modern glass walls. It’s just an honest office where we put in our hours and try to keep everything in order for the people we assist.
