We’ve been operating from 543 Shop Street in Basavanagudi for quite a few years. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do. Most of the time, we’re busy dealing with suppliers or sorting through orders that come in. The street outside gets really noisy with all the traffic, but inside we just focus on getting the work done. We handle various items, mostly things people in the area need for their businesses or homes. It isn't a flashy place. You’ll see boxes stacked up and maybe some dust on the high shelves. We don't spend much on decorating because we’d rather just keep the inventory moving. My father started things here, and I took over later on. It’s a lot of paperwork and checking lists. Basavanagudi has changed a lot, but this shop stays pretty much the same. We know most of our regular customers by face, even if we don't always remember names. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just use torches until it comes back. It's just part of running a shop on this street. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to make sure the orders are right and people get what they paid for. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We keep the doors open six days a week and rest on Sundays like everyone else. It is a quiet time for us to catch up on rest.
