Gayathri Glass And Plywood is located right on Mathikere Basant Road 31. We have been working out of this spot for years. The shop is filled with stacks of plywood and sheets of glass leaning against the walls. It smells like wood glue and sawdust most days. We spend a lot of time cutting things to size for neighbors and local carpenters. If someone needs a mirror for their bathroom or a sheet of ply for a shelf, they usually stop by here. We don't have a lot of space for a fancy office, so the desk is usually covered in measurements and scraps of paper. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow road for a minute, but everyone around here is used to it. We try to keep the glass clean, but it's hard with the wood dust flying around. It’s a family-run kind of place. We don't use a computer for everything; we still write down orders in a big ledger book. Sometimes we run out of a certain thickness of plywood and have to wait for the next shipment. People seem to appreciate that we tell them straight if something isn't in stock. It’s just a regular shop where we do our work and go home. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot from our front door. Still here, though. We like the work we do even if it's a bit messy.
