We are tucked away in Neelasandra, specifically in Sadar Bazar 14. Being in a market area like this means there is always something going on outside the window. It’s noisy and crowded, but it’s real. Gayathri and Namith started this because they wanted to draw buildings and see them actually get built. We don't have a big reception desk or fancy art on the walls. Mostly, it’s just desks covered in rolls of paper and half-empty cups of chai. We spend our mornings responding to emails and the afternoons usually involve a lot of driving to different sites to see if the masons are following the drawings. Sometimes the traffic in Neelasandra is so bad we just end up walking to get things done faster. People come in with an idea for a house or a shop, and we sit down with them to figure out where the walls should go. It’s a practical process. We don't use big words or try to act like we know everything. If a design doesn't work for the budget, we say so. The rainy season usually messes up our schedules, but we deal with it. We’ve been at this address for a bit now, and we like the vibe of the bazaar. It’s a lot of back-and-forth between the office and the construction sites, but that is the only way to make sure things turn out okay in the end. Most days we are just trying to keep the paperwork from flying away when the fan is on.
