Pooja Electricals Hardware is located at 15 5th Main in the Vasanthappa Block of Ganganagar, right here in Bengaluru. If you’ve ever tried to navigate the streets around here, you know how narrow and busy they can get. Our shop is a small, packed space where we try to fit as much as possible on the shelves. We have everything from light bulbs and wires to bathroom fittings and hammers. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a bucket to reach a box of nails. We spend most of our time chatting with neighbors who stop by because a tap is leaking or a fuse blew out. The morning usually starts with a bit of sweeping and then setting out some of the plastic pipes near the entrance. Bengaluru weather is usually okay, but when the rains hit, we have to hurry to make sure nothing gets damp near the door. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is hidden. The walls are lined with wooden drawers that have been around since we first opened. It isn't a modern store with air conditioning or a computer for every person. We use a simple ledger to write down what we sell. It’s a busy, cramped, but familiar place where we spend our days helping people fix things up in their own homes. We just keep the lights on and wait for the next person to walk in.
