We’ve been operating out of Shenil Vihar in Moodadi North for a while now. It’s a quiet spot near Kollam in the Calicut district of Kerala. Even though the name mentions Bangalore, this is where you'll find us on a daily basis. Most mornings start with a bit of a commute, and the weather here usually dictates how much we get done outside. We deal with various bits and pieces of the engineering and construction side of things. It’s not always glamorous work. Some days are just about sorting through piles of paperwork or making sure the equipment is where it needs to be. The office isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where we can sit down and get the job done. People around here know us as the Gammon India lot. We've got a small team, and we mostly keep to ourselves, focusing on whatever project is currently on the table. It gets quite humid in this part of the country, so the fans are always going. Sometimes the power cuts out, which is a bit of a nuisance, but we manage. Most of the guys have been here long enough that we don’t need to talk much to know what needs doing next. It’s just a regular workplace trying to stay on top of the schedule. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to build things right and get home on time. It's a steady pace, and we like it that way. We usually wrap things up when the sun goes down and head home.
