G. Pratap Kumar & Company

You can find G. Pratap Kumar & Company at 461, on the 14th Cross in Lakkasandra. It’s a bit of a maze back here if you don't know the streets, but once you find us, it’s a pretty quiet spot. We’ve been operating out of this building for a good number of years now. It’s a two-story place, though we mostly use the ground floor for the main work. We have a few desks, a lot of old ledgers, and a coffee machine that works when it feels like it. The walls are covered in old calendars and some notes we pinned up years ago and forgot to take down. We aren't the type of people to go for big rebranding or expensive furniture. We like our old wooden desks and the way the light comes through the side window in the morning. Our team is small, just a handful of us who’ve known each other forever. We handle various bits of trade and paperwork. It’s not the kind of job that makes the news, but it’s important to us. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket right outside the window, and we have to remind them to be careful of the glass. It’s just a normal, everyday office in a normal neighborhood. We do our work, we talk about our families, and we head home when the clock strikes five. It's a routine that works for us, and we don't need much more than that.
