Furn Decor

We are located at number 19 in Kalyan Nagar, sort of diagonally across from the post office area. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main junctions. At Furn Decor, we spend most of our time putting together cabinets or showing people different types of wood finishes. The workshop is right behind the small display area, so you can usually hear the sawing and hammering throughout the day. I started working here when I was twenty, and now I’m running the place. We don't have a big team, just a few guys who know their way around a toolbox. The shop floor is often covered in wood shavings. We get a lot of families from the nearby apartments coming in to look for bookshelves or a small desk for their kids. It’s a practical business. We don't use any high-tech machines, just the old ones that still work fine. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the bench until it comes back. The neighborhood has grown a lot since we opened. There used to be more trees and fewer cars. Now it’s all buildings. We keep our prices fair because we know our neighbors. It’s not about making a huge profit every single day. We just want to do the work and go home to our families. It is a decent way to earn a living in this city and we plan to stay here.
