Our little spot is located in Vijaya Nagar, specifically over at Adarsh Gardens on 47th Cross, 2nd Main 178. We do a lot of work with specialized coatings and sealants, so the smell of chemicals is something we deal with every day. It’s a hands-on business where we spend more time on our knees or on scaffolding than sitting at a desk. The office in Adarsh Gardens is mostly for storing our supplies and keeping the drums of material organized. We have to be very careful with how we apply things because if you mess up a seal, it’s a big problem later on. It’s a bit of a messy job, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we enjoy. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try to keep the noise down when we are loading up the van in the morning. Most of our work happens at different sites across the city, but this is where we come back to clean our tools and plan the next day. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. We are just a small crew that knows how to handle these specific products. It’s about being steady and paying attention to the small gaps. We take our work seriously, even if we are usually covered in some kind of grey paste by the time we go home. It’s just what we do to make a living.
