Floor City

Floor City is up on the second floor of 26/1 on Jaya Chamarajendra Road. It is a busy street, so you have to climb the stairs to get away from the noise. We have been here for a long time selling all kinds of flooring materials. People come up to see the samples we have laid out. It is a bit of a climb, but we think it is worth it. We do not have a big elevator, so we have to carry things up and down. It keeps us fit, I guess. The shop is filled with rolls of carpet and stacks of laminate. It smells like glue and wood most of the time. We are not professional decorators. We are just guys who know a lot about floors. We tell people what will last and what will scratch easily. My uncle started this place, and I took over after I finished school. We have some regular contractors who come in every week. We usually sit and have tea with them while we talk about their projects. It is a relaxed atmosphere. We do not push people to buy things they do not need. If the floor they have is still good, we tell them to keep it. We just enjoy being on JC Road and being part of the trade here. The windows are usually open to let in a breeze, even if it brings in dust.
