We are over at Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, specifically at 16/1 on the 5th Main Road. Fds Architects And Consultants is a small firm. We’ve been operating out of RT Nagar for some years now. The office is basically where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s filled with sketches, site photos, and a lot of reference books that have seen better days. We do a mix of architecture and consulting, so some days we are drawing and other days we are just giving advice on how to fix a problem with an existing building. It's a bit of a local hub for us. We know the tea stall around the corner and the other business owners on the 5th Main Road. We don't try to sound like a big international corporation because we aren't one. We are just a group of people who know how buildings go together. Sometimes a design takes a long time to get right and we end up staying late into the evening. Other days are more relaxed and we just catch up on emails. We don't use a lot of flowery language when we talk to the people who hire us. We just explain what is possible and what isn't within their budget. It's a very hands-on kind of place. If you come by, you'll probably see us arguing over a blueprint or checking some measurements on a screen. It’s just regular work in a regular neighborhood, and that's how we like it.
