Faith Institutions

Our place is out in Jalahalli, specifically in the Ramachandrapura area. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the center of Bangalore, but it’s quieter here. The post office is the main landmark most people use to find us. We’ve been here for a while now. The building is tucked away on a street that doesn't get too much heavy traffic, which is nice for a change. There are a few trees around that give some shade when the sun is really beating down in the afternoons. Inside, the rooms are pretty basic with just the stuff we need to get through the day. We don't have those fancy glass walls or modern art you see in corporate offices. It’s more of a functional space. People from the neighborhood know where we are, and we see the same faces walking by every morning. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or find something else to do. It’s just how things go around here. I usually walk to work since I live nearby, so I see the local shops opening up their shutters every day. It’s a decent spot to be in, away from the madness of the main roads. There’s a small tea shop at the corner where everyone gathers, and that’s about as exciting as it gets.
