Fab Plus

Our spot is over at 93/2 in the Kalkere Post area, just off Bannerghatta Road. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s where we’ve set up our operation for the long haul. The building is a simple one, nothing fancy to look at from the street side. Inside, though, we’re usually pretty busy with whatever project happens to be on the table. We handle a lot of different things here, and the floor is often covered with materials and offcuts from the day's work. It’s a working space, so it definitely looks like one. There’s a desk in the corner piled high with papers and samples. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop in with ideas for what they want made. The air smells a bit like workshop dust and maybe some faint chemical scents depending on what we’re doing that afternoon. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine and the machines. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The Kalkere area is growing, so there’s more traffic than there used to be. Sometimes we take our breaks outside just to get some air and watch the cars go by. It’s not a corporate office. It’s just a place where we make things and try to stay busy.
