Ethnic Silk Mills

Our mill is tucked away at 22/4 Hosur Layout, right there in Electronic City. It isn’t much to look at from the outside, just a regular building on Hosur Road where we get the work done. We’ve been here for a good while now, dealing with silk every single day. The machines make a lot of noise, and the air always feels a bit heavy with the smell of the fabric and the thread. Most of us have been working these same looms for years. We start early in the morning when the traffic on Hosur Road is just starting to get bad. It’s a lot of manual labor, checking the threads and making sure the colors are coming out okay. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit around and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s not some fancy corporate setup with glass walls. It is just a place where we handle silk and try to keep things moving. The neighborhood has changed a lot with all the IT buildings coming up nearby, but we just stay here in our corner of the layout. People stop by sometimes asking for samples, and we just show them what we have on the racks. It is a simple life, really. We pack the stuff up, load the trucks, and that is about it. No big speeches or anything, just the daily routine of running a mill in a busy part of town.
