Our workshop is down at No.235-H in the Bommasandra Industrial Area. If you know Hosur Road, you know how the traffic can get around here, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. We are tucked away in the industrial section where there are lots of trucks and warehouses. Inside our space, there is usually a lot of sawdust in the air because we are always cutting or assembling something. We have various pieces of furniture in different stages of being finished. Some are just frames, and others are almost ready to go out. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a working floor where things get made. The guys move between the saws and the assembly tables all day long. We keep the big shutter open to let the air in, which also lets in the noise from the street. It’s a busy environment and things can get a bit disorganized when we have a big order to finish. We use simple tools and a lot of manual work to get things right. Lunch is usually eaten quickly so we can get back to the projects. We don't do much talking; we just get on with the cutting and fitting. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving boards around. By the end of the shift, we are all pretty tired, but the work is steady and that is what matters to us in this busy industrial zone.
