Being out here in Electronic City Phase 2 means a lot of travel for most of us every day. Our place is over at 99-100p in the KIADB Industrial Area. It’s a big space and there is always something going on with the machines or the computers. We don’t really do the whole corporate suit and tie thing here. Most people are in their work clothes just trying to get through the queue of tasks. The air conditioning is usually running full blast because it gets warm with all the equipment. Sometimes the canteen food is okay and other days it’s not great. We have a lot of rules about safety which makes sense given what we do. It’s a bit of a maze in this industrial layout if you aren’t used to it. The security guards at the gate know us by face now. We spend a lot of time looking at parts and making sure everything fits where it’s supposed to. It’s precise work but it can be tiring after eight or nine hours. When the monsoon hits, the roads around here get messy. We just park the bikes and head inside to start the shift. It’s a steady job in a busy part of town. Not much more to say than that. We just show up and do the work that’s on the table for the day.
