East West Polytechnic College is located off Magadi Main Road here in Bengaluru. If you know the Vishwaneedam Post area, you know the traffic can be a bit much, but once you get inside the gates, it settles down. We have been operating at No. 63 for years. The labs are usually full of students tinkering with machines or working on their computers. It is a practical sort of place. We don’t spend much time on fancy speeches; mostly it is about the workshops and the practical exams that everyone worries about. The campus has a lot of stairs and hallways that feel quite long when you are running late for a class. Our staff room is usually a mess of files and tea cups because there is always something to grade or a schedule to fix. Students come from all over Karnataka, so you hear a mix of languages in the canteen during lunch. The building shows its age in some spots, but it serves the purpose. We have some trees that provide a bit of a break from the city noise. It is just a place where young people come to learn a trade and get their diplomas so they can find work. There is no mystery to it. It’s about the daily grind of lectures and lab manuals. We keep things simple and focus on the work in front of us. Most of us have been here a long time and know the routine.
