Dutta And Kannan Architects

You can find us on the second floor of a building right on 100 Feet Road in Indira Nagar. It is a busy stretch of road, so there is always something going on outside our windows. Dutta and Kannan have been working together for quite some time now, and this office is where all the ideas actually turn into something real on paper. It isn't a very large space, just enough for our tables and a couple of computers. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and looking at site surveys. The traffic downstairs can be a nightmare, but once you get up to the second floor, it’s a bit quieter. We handle a lot of different projects, but we don't really have a specialty. We just take what comes and try to do a decent job with it. Some days are spent entirely on the phone with the municipal corporation, which is never fun for anyone. Other days, we get to actually sit and draw. We don’t have a flashy sign or a big lobby. Most people just know us through word of mouth around this neighborhood. If you come to see us, you’ll likely see piles of blueprints and maybe a few coffee stains on the margins of some drawings. We are just a couple of guys and our small team trying to build things that work for the people living in this city.
