DS2 Architecture

We’ve been here at Cunningham Classic for a while now. It’s on the fourth floor, which is good because the street noise from Cunningham Road doesn't get up here too much. Most mornings start with just getting through the traffic near The Hindu and then climbing up to suite 401. It’s an architecture office, so there are always rolls of paper and sketches all over the place. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and talking about how things should look when they’re actually built. It isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes we're just arguing about where a wall goes or trying to fix a drawing that isn't quite right. The light in the office is okay in the afternoons. People come in and out, mostly just to check on things or drop off files. We keep things pretty simple. There’s a lot of coffee involved, mostly because the days can get pretty long when we have a deadline coming up. Being in Bangalore, you just get used to the pace of things changing around the city. We see a lot of new buildings going up while we’re working on our own projects. It’s just us here, doing the work, making sure the plans make sense before they go to the site. It’s a job like any other, but with more drawing and a lot of time spent staring at floor plans. The office at No.22 is where we get it all done.
