Dlf Laing O'Rourke

Out in Bangalore, Dlf Laing O'Rourke is based at No 14 on the 4th Cross in RK Gardens, just off New BEL Road. If you know Bangalore, you know the traffic around New BEL Road is something else, but once you get into the side streets of RK Gardens, it’s actually quite peaceful. Our office is a simple setup on the cross road. It’s a traditional building, and we have the ground floor mostly. We deal with a lot of the local infrastructure projects from this site. The weather in Bangalore is usually the best part of the day, so we often keep the windows open. We’ve got a small crew here, mostly engineers and a couple of people for the accounts. It’s not a high-tech startup vibe, even though we are in Bangalore. It feels more like a workshop or a site office. There are always rolls of drawings lying around. We drink a lot of filter coffee, as you’d expect. The neighborhood is mostly houses and a few other small businesses. It’s a comfortable place to work without the stress of a massive office tower. We just focus on our tasks and try to stay ahead of the deadlines. Finding the place is easy enough if you follow the 4th Cross carefully. It’s a solid, quiet place to get things done without too much noise from the main road.
