We are based on the ground floor of number 40 on 3rd Cross, Ganesha Temple Road in Dinnur. It’s part of the R. T. Nagar area in Bangalore. Being near the temple means there is always something going on, especially on festival days when the whole street is packed. Our shop is full of all sorts of gift items, from small trinkets to bigger pieces. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside because we try to fit as much as we can on the shelves. We spend a lot of time wrapping things in paper and tying ribbons, which can be tricky when the shop gets busy. Our hands are usually covered in tape or ink from the pens. We don’t have a big marketing plan or a fancy display window. People mostly see our sign while they are walking to the temple and decide to step inside. The floor is a bit worn out from all the foot traffic, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve just learned to ignore. It’s a friendly place where we know many of our customers by name. We don't try to act like a big department store. We’re just a local business trying to keep the shelves stocked with things people might like. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters at night. Sometimes the incense from the temple drifts inside the shop.
