Dhanalakshmi Die Castings

You can find us at D-27 in the NGEF Industrial Estate, over by the Mahadevapura Post. Being in an industrial estate means it’s not the prettiest place to work, but it’s where the actual making happens. Dhanalakshmi Die Castings is a place where we deal with metal and molds all day long. It gets quite hot in the back where the machines are running, and there’s always a bit of oil or dust on the floor. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be fancy or look like a corporate headquarters. We have our workshop area and a small office space for the paperwork. The sound of the machinery is something you just get used to after a while. Most of the guys here have been doing this for a long time. We don't have a big marketing budget or a sales team. We just focus on the castings and making sure the dimensions are right. Some days the machines give us trouble and we have to spend hours fixing them, which is just part of the job. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment. We eat our lunch together and talk about regular things like cricket or the news. When the shift is over, we’re usually pretty tired and ready to head home. It’s a solid way to make a living and we take it one day at a time.
