Dhana Lakshmi Nursery

Our nursery, Dhana Lakshmi Nursery, is located at D No. 7-17 in Kadiyapulanka, over in the Kamakshi Palya area. It’s a green spot in the middle of a lot of buildings and busy roads. We spend our days surrounded by plants, soil, and pots. It’s a bit different from the offices and shops around us. We’ve got rows of saplings and flowers that we look after from early morning until the sun goes down. The ground is almost always a bit damp from watering, so you have to watch your step when you walk through the aisles. It isn't a perfectly manicured garden; it's more of a working nursery where we grow things to sell. We get our hands dirty every single day, which is just part of the job. Sometimes the bugs get to the leaves or a batch of plants doesn't take, and that's frustrating, but we just start again with new seeds. We don't have a big sales team or a fancy office. Usually, it's just one of us walking around with a hose or a shovel in hand. People come by when they want something green for their homes or when they’re starting a small garden in their backyard. We give them basic advice on how much water a plant needs, nothing too technical. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the birds and the occasional truck passing by. We’ve been here at 7-17 for quite some time now, just growing things.
