Design Square

Design Square is located in Vidyaranyapura Budruk. It’s an interesting area to be in, a mix of different things happening at once. Our workspace is pretty basic. We have tables for drawing and computers for the digital side of things. It’s not a fancy studio with mood lighting. Mostly, it’s just a place where we try to figure out how to make things look right. We have stacks of sketches and notes all over the place. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in paper, but we know where everything is. We are just a small group of people who enjoy what we do. We don't have a big mission statement or a corporate ladder. We just take on projects and try to get them finished. The commute here can be a bit of a pain depending on the time of day, but once we are in, we just get to it. We’ve been in Vidyaranyapura for a while now and we know the local shops where we get our lunch. It’s a grounded way to work. We don't try to impress people with big words. If someone asks what we do, we just show them what we are working on at that moment. The building we are in is nothing special to look at from the outside, just a plain block. But inside, it's where we spend most of our waking hours. We have a few plants on the windowsills that we sometimes forget to water. They’re hanging in there, though. We like the quiet of this neighborhood.
