Daimler Chrysler Research Centre

We’ve been here at the Infantry Road spot in the Buddanna Industrial Estate for quite a while now. Most people know the Vidyapeeta Road area can get pretty busy, especially around building 137 where we are. It’s mostly just us and the machines and a lot of paperwork. We spend our days looking at car parts and technical data at the Daimler Chrysler Research Centre. It isn't always exciting, but it’s what we do. The office has some old chairs and the tea lady comes around twice a day which helps. Sometimes the power goes out, so we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a research place, so there are always papers everywhere and someone is usually complaining about a computer not working right. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in past the gate and find someone at a desk. The guys in the back are usually busy with testing stuff. It’s noisy because of the industrial estate neighbors, but we got used to it. We try to keep things organized but it’s hard when you’re dealing with so many different projects at once. Lunch is usually someone bringing in tiffins or going down the street to the little corner shop. It’s just a normal workplace with people trying to get their tasks done before the traffic gets too bad. We have some old metal cabinets that squeak every time you open them, but they hold all our old files fine.
