Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd.

I work as a QA/QC engineer for Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd out here in Jubail Industrial City. Our main mailing address is PO Box-11922, but the actual work happens out on the industrial sites in Saudi Arabia. It’s a very different environment compared to an office back home. The heat is the main thing you notice every single day. We spend a lot of our time checking specs and making sure the quality of the work is where it needs to be. It’s a lot of walking around with clipboards and looking at pipes, concrete, and steel. The industrial city is massive, so we spend a good chunk of time driving between different sections. Living and working here means you get used to the desert landscape and the very early starts. We try to get most of the outdoor inspections done before the sun gets too high. It’s a professional environment but not a stiff one. We’re all just trying to get the job done right so there aren't any issues later. The team is made up of people from all over, so there’s always a mix of languages and stories during our breaks. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Our office is often just a trailer on a construction site or a shared desk in a temporary building. It’s hard work, but it’s honest and keeps us busy throughout the week.
