Corner House

Jayanagar is a busy area, and our spot on Chandavarkar Road at 532 is usually right in the middle of it. We spend most of our time scooping ice cream and cleaning up spills. It’s not a very big space, so it gets cramped when everyone decides to come at once, usually after dinner time. We’ve seen kids grow up coming here, first with their parents and then later with their own friends. The menu stays mostly the same because that is what people expect when they walk in. We don’t do anything too complicated. It’s mostly just about keeping the freezers running and making sure we don't run out of chocolate sauce. The staff here has been around for a while, so we know how to handle the weekend rush, even when the line goes out the door and onto the sidewalk. It gets a bit messy sometimes with the napkins and empty cups, but we try to keep on top of it. People mostly come for the hot chocolate fudge, so we make a lot of that every single day. The lights are bright and the music is usually just whatever is on the radio. It isn't a place for a quiet conversation, especially on a Saturday night. We just open the doors, serve whoever comes in, and hope the machines don't break down during the busy hours. It's just a job we do.
