Classic Components

Gandhi Bazaar is one of my favorite parts of Bangalore to be in. We are on Nat Street, right in the middle of all the daily action. You can always smell the fresh jasmine and the filter coffee from the small shops nearby. We are at 10/11. We sell electronic components to whoever needs them. It’s a small shop and very old school in how it looks. We have rows of drawers filled with tiny parts that most people wouldn't even recognize. I’ve been behind this wooden counter for more years than I care to count. Basavanagudi has changed so much over the decades, but our street still feels the same. We have customers who used to come here when they were students and now they bring their own kids to the shop. It’s a nice feeling to have that history. We don't have a computer system for our inventory; it’s all in my head and written down in some old notebooks. It works just fine for us and our customers. We don't have a big marketing plan or a social media page. We just open the metal shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to show up. Sometimes we sit on the front steps and talk to the neighbors about the local news. It’s a real community here. We aren't looking to grow big or move. We like it right here among the flowers.
