We have been here at Chowdeshwari Nagar for a while now. The space on 2nd Main Road stays busy from morning till evening. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes with all the bamboo sticks and the raw materials piled up, but we manage just fine. Most days start around eight. People come in, get their stations ready, and start rolling. The smell of the powders and perfumes is always in the air, even on the curtains and our clothes when we go home. It’s hard to get that scent out, but we don't mind it much anymore. Laggere is a crowded spot, so there is always noise from the street outside, mostly scooters and people walking by the shop. We do the packing by hand usually. Some days the humidity makes the sticks take longer to dry, which can be a bit of a headache when we have a lot of orders to move. We just stack them on the racks and wait. It isn't anything fancy, just a regular workplace where everyone knows what they have to do. We usually take a break in the afternoon for some tea from the stall down the road. It keeps us going until we finish up for the day. Sometimes neighbors drop by just to say hello or ask for a small pack. We like being part of the local scene here. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy every day of the week except Sundays.
